Flexible CNA Opportunities Across Houston's Leading Healthcare Settings

Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in LTC, rehab, or home health settings
• Monitor and accurately record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature, reporting changes to the supervising nurse promptly
• Provide mobility assistance including transferring and repositioning patients using proper body mechanics and assistive devices to prevent injury
• Support patient nutrition by assisting with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration tracking, particularly for residents with dietary restrictions or swallowing difficulties
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable patient environment by performing light housekeeping duties and adhering to infection control and sanitation protocols
• Observe and report physical, emotional, or behavioral changes in patients to the licensed nursing staff, serving as a key member of the interdisciplinary care team
• Assist rehabilitation patients with prescribed exercise routines and mobility activities under the guidance of therapy and nursing professionals
• For home health assignments, provide companionship, medication reminders, and personal care in the patient's private residence while respecting their dignity and independence
• Document care activities accurately in patient charts or electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with facility and state of Texas regulatory standards
• Respond to patient call lights and urgent needs in a timely, compassionate manner while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor at all times

What We're Looking For in a Houston CNA Candidate

• Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Texas through the Texas Nurse Aide Registry (NAR) — in good standing with no substantiated findings
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Minimum of 6 months of hands-on experience as a CNA in a long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or home health environment preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply
• CPR/BLS certification required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients safely — must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods during shifts
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with elderly, post-acute, or homebound patients and their families
• Basic understanding of medical terminology, infection control procedures, and HIPAA privacy regulations
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to various Houston-area facility or home health client locations depending on assignment type
