Responsibilities:

• Assist residents, patients, or clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in LTC, rehab, or home health settings
• Monitor and accurately document vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature, reporting changes to the supervising nurse
• Support patient mobility by assisting with transfers, repositioning, ambulation, and use of mobility equipment in accordance with care plans
• Provide compassionate, dignified personal care to long-term care residents, rehabilitation patients, or home health clients across the Newark area
• Observe and promptly report changes in patient condition, behavior, or comfort level to the licensed nursing staff
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding support, and hydration monitoring to promote optimal patient nutrition and wellness
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized care environment consistent with NJ Department of Health standards and facility infection control protocols
• Participate in rehabilitation exercises and restorative care activities under the direction of therapy or nursing staff
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Document care activities accurately in electronic health records (EHR) or paper-based systems per facility or agency policy

Qualifications We Look For in Our Newark CNA Candidates

• Active, valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification listed in good standing on the New Jersey Nurse Aide Registry
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Prior clinical experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or home health setting preferred but not required for entry-level candidates
• Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic, patient-centered care with a strong commitment to resident and patient dignity
• Basic understanding of infection control, HIPAA compliance, and safe patient handling techniques

• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain prior to placement
