Flexible CNA Opportunities Across Long-Term Care, Rehab & Home Health Settings in the Philadelphia Area

Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in LTC, rehab, or home health settings
  • Monitor and accurately document vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, reporting any abnormal findings to the supervising nurse
  • Support safe patient transfers and ambulation using proper body mechanics and approved assistive devices in compliance with Pennsylvania care standards
  • Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to patients and residents, fostering dignity, respect, and a sense of well-being
  • Assist with nutritional intake by serving meals, encouraging hydration, and documenting dietary consumption for residents in long-term care settings
  • Perform routine skin assessments and assist with repositioning immobile patients to prevent pressure injuries and maintain skin integrity
  • Collaborate with the nursing and interdisciplinary care team to implement individualized care plans and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in accordance with infection control protocols and facility policies
  • Assist rehabilitation patients with prescribed therapeutic exercises under the direction of nursing and therapy staff to support recovery goals
  • In home health settings, perform light housekeeping, medication reminders, and personal care tasks while respecting client autonomy and the home environment

Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in Philadelphia

  • Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with a clean listing on the PA Nurse Aide Registry
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; completion of a state-approved CNA training program required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of CNA experience preferred in a long-term care, rehabilitation, or home health setting, though entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Current CPR/BLS certification from an accredited organization such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Demonstrated ability to provide patient-centered care with empathy, patience, and professionalism in high-acuity and residential healthcare environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to accurately document patient care information in electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting, transferring, and repositioning patients in compliance with facility safety protocols
