Responsibilities:

• Assist patients and residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene in LTC, rehab, or home health settings
• Monitor and accurately document vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, reporting any changes to supervising nursing staff
• Support patient mobility by assisting with transfers, repositioning, ambulation, and the safe use of assistive devices such as walkers and wheelchairs
• Provide compassionate personal care to long-term care residents, fostering dignity, independence, and emotional well-being during daily interactions
• Assist rehabilitation patients with prescribed exercises and therapeutic activities under the direction of licensed nursing and therapy staff
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment by performing light housekeeping tasks, changing bed linens, and ensuring infection control protocols are followed
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team regarding changes in patient condition or emerging care needs
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding support, and hydration monitoring to ensure patients meet their nutritional care plans
• For home health assignments, provide in-home personal care, companionship, and light household support while maintaining accurate care logs and communication with the supervising RN
• Adhere strictly to Pennsylvania state regulations, facility policies, and Reliant Healthcare Solutions' standards of care across all assigned healthcare settings

Qualifications We Look for in Pittsburgh CNAs

• Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in good standing with the PA Nurse Aide Registry
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Minimum of 6 months of hands-on CNA experience preferred; newly certified graduates with clinical training are encouraged to apply
• Current CPR/BLS certification from an accredited provider (American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred)
• Ability to pass a Pennsylvania criminal background check and child abuse clearance as required by state law for healthcare workers
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-based nursing environment
• Physical ability to perform the demands of the role including lifting, transferring patients, and standing for extended periods
• Reliable transportation and willingness to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, nights, or weekends depending on assignment needs
