Physical Therapy Assistant-Lanham, MD

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maryland licensed Physical Therapist to join a team of outpatient physical therapists in providing excellent healthcare at our facility located in Lanham, Maryland full-time or part-time. This is a private, clinician-owned and operated practice. We offer a fun work environment with a reputation for providing quality care. Your primary focus will be to assist patients in their rehabilitation journey, helping them regain mobility and improve their quality of life. You will work in various settings, including acute care, inpatient facilities, and home health environments.

Duties & Responsiblities

• Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Provide direct patient care, including exercises, modalities, and manual therapy techniques.
• Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions.
• Participate in discharge planning and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress notes.
• Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients during therapy sessions.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to effectively assist in patient rehabilitation.
• Experience in acute care settings, pediatrics, inpatient facilities, or home health is highly desirable.
• Proficient in developing care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Familiarity with trigger point therapy techniques and orthopedic rehabilitation practices.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy while providing patient care.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple patients and documentation efficiently.

Qualifications & Requirements

• License from the Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
• One (1) year of experience
• A must-have inter-personal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
