Flexible Temporary CNA Opportunities in Long-Term Care & Rehabilitation Settings Across the Duke City
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and ambulation in LTC and rehab environments
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration, reporting changes promptly to licensed nursing staff
- Support rehabilitation patients with range-of-motion exercises and mobility assistance under the direction of physical and occupational therapy teams
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to long-term residents, including those living with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other cognitive impairments
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents by performing routine room upkeep and adhering to infection control protocols
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration monitoring to ensure proper nutritional intake for all assigned residents
- Document resident care activities, observations, and behavioral changes accurately in electronic health records (EHR) or paper charting systems per facility policy
- Respond promptly and professionally to call lights and emergency situations, escalating concerns to charge nurses as appropriate
- Assist nursing staff during clinical procedures, resident transfers, and admissions or discharges as directed
- Foster positive, respectful relationships with residents, families, and interdisciplinary care team members to promote a culture of dignity and trust
Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in Albuquerque
- Active, unrestricted Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification on the New Mexico Nurse Aide Registry in good standing
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Current CPR/BLS certification from an accredited provider (American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening in compliance with New Mexico healthcare facility requirements
- Demonstrated ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents safely, with the physical stamina to perform duties throughout an entire shift
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a significant asset in Albuquerque's diverse care settings
