Flexible Temporary CNA Opportunities in Long-Term Care & Rehabilitation Settings Across Knoxville
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in LTC and rehab facility settings
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature, reporting changes to the supervising nurse promptly
- Support patient mobility and safe ambulation, including assistance with transfers using proper body mechanics and mechanical lift equipment as required
- Provide compassionate care and emotional support to residents and their families, maintaining dignity and respect at all times
- Assist with feeding and hydration, ensuring nutritional needs are met and documenting food and fluid intake per facility protocol
- Observe and report changes in resident condition, behavior, skin integrity, or mood to the licensed nursing staff in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents by performing light housekeeping tasks and ensuring personal care items are organized and accessible
- Participate in restorative and rehabilitative care activities under the direction of therapy and nursing staff to promote resident independence and recovery
- Document resident care activities accurately in electronic health records (EHR) or paper charting systems in compliance with facility and state regulations
- Collaborate effectively with nursing, therapy, dietary, and social services team members to deliver coordinated, whole-person care within the interdisciplinary care model
Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in Knoxville, TN
- Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Tennessee or eligibility for reciprocity from another state
- Listing in good standing on the Tennessee Nurse Aide Registry with no substantiated findings of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification from an accredited provider (required or must be obtained prior to first assignment)
- Prior experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation setting is preferred but not required — candidates at all experience levels are encouraged to apply
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and TB test/health screening as required by the facility
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work respectfully and effectively with a diverse resident population and multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Physical ability to perform the demands of the role, including standing for extended periods, lifting, and assisting with patient transfers
