Flexible Temporary CNA Opportunities in Long-Term Care & Rehabilitation Settings Across Lexington
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting in LTC and rehab settings
- Monitor and accurately document vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature per facility protocol
- Support rehabilitation patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation under the direction of nursing and therapy staff
- Respond promptly and compassionately to patient call lights and requests, ensuring comfort and safety at all times
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration monitoring for residents requiring nutritional support
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized care environment by performing routine room tidying and infection control practices
- Communicate changes in patient condition, behavior, or health status to the supervising licensed nurse immediately
- Provide emotional support and dignified care to long-term care residents, fostering trust and a sense of community
- Assist nursing staff with repositioning and turning of bed-bound patients to prevent pressure injuries
- Accurately complete and maintain resident care records, activity logs, and intake and output documentation in compliance with facility and state guidelines
Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in Lexington, KY
- Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification listed in good standing on the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Minimum of one completed clinical training program; prior experience in LTC, skilled nursing, or rehab settings preferred but not required
- Current CPR/BLS certification from an AHA or Red Cross-approved provider
- Ability to pass a comprehensive state and federal background check in accordance with Kentucky long-term care regulations
- Current negative TB test or chest X-ray results within required timeframe, plus up-to-date immunization documentation
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to patient dignity and person-centered care
- Ability to perform physical duties including prolonged standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and assisting with patient transfers
