Flexible Temporary CNA Opportunities in Long-Term Care & Rehabilitation Settings Across Indianapolis
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting in LTC and rehab environments
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration, reporting changes to the supervising nurse promptly
- Support patient mobility and safe repositioning using proper body mechanics and facility-approved transfer techniques, including use of mechanical lifts
- Assist rehabilitation patients with ambulation and prescribed exercises under the direction of licensed nursing and therapy staff
- Provide compassionate emotional support and companionship to long-term care residents, fostering dignity and a sense of well-being
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in accordance with infection control standards and facility protocols
- Document care provided accurately in electronic health records (EHR) or paper charts in compliance with state and facility guidelines
- Respond promptly to patient and resident call lights, prioritizing urgent needs and escalating concerns to nursing staff as appropriate
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding support, and hydration monitoring to ensure residents meet nutritional and dietary goals
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams including nurses, therapists, and social workers to support individualized patient care plans
Qualifications We're Looking For in Indianapolis CNAs
- Active and unrestricted Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Indiana, in good standing with the Indiana State Nurse Aide Registry
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Current CPR/BLS certification from an AHA or Red Cross-approved provider
- Previous experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation setting is a plus but not required — all experience levels are encouraged to apply
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with direct patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to patient-centered care
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening as required by facility and state staffing regulations
