Flexible Temporary CNA Opportunities in Long-Term Care & Rehabilitation Settings Across Greater Seattle

Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, and toileting in accordance with individualized care plans
  • Monitor and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities to the supervising licensed nurse
  • Support safe patient transfers and mobility using proper body mechanics and assistive devices, including Hoyer lifts, gait belts, and transfer boards
  • Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to long-term care residents, fostering dignity, respect, and a sense of community within the facility
  • Assist rehabilitation patients with prescribed exercise routines and mobility activities under the direction of physical and occupational therapy staff
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all residents and patients, including routine room tidying, linen changes, and infection control practices
  • Document care activities, observations, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner within the facility's electronic health record (EHR) or paper charting system
  • Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests, prioritizing urgent needs while balancing a full resident caseload with professionalism and efficiency
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care team meetings, contributing direct observational insights about resident behavior, appetite, mood, and functional changes
  • Adhere to all Washington State Department of Health regulations, facility-specific protocols, and HIPAA guidelines governing patient privacy and confidentiality

Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in Seattle

  • Current, active Washington State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing on the WA DSHS Nurse Aide Registry
  • Valid CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (must be current at time of assignment)
  • Minimum of one completed clinical rotation or any level of hands-on CNA work experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation setting preferred but not required for new graduates
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with patient transfers, ambulation, and repositioning using safe patient handling techniques
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact respectfully with residents, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Ability to pass a Washington State background check, including a DSHS background clearance as required for LTC facility employment
  • Reliable transportation or access to public transit to reach assignments across the greater Seattle metro area, including surrounding King County communities
  • Willingness to maintain flexibility across multiple shift types and facility environments in accordance with temporary staffing assignments
