Flexible Temporary CNA Opportunities in Long-Term Care & Rehabilitation Across Tacoma

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct personal care to residents and patients, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene in LTC and rehab settings
  • Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices per care plan guidelines
  • Monitor and accurately document vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, and weight
  • Support nutrition and hydration by assisting residents with meals, monitoring intake, and reporting changes in appetite to nursing staff
  • Respond promptly and compassionately to call lights and resident requests to ensure safety, comfort, and dignity at all times
  • Assist rehabilitation patients with therapeutic exercises and activities of daily living as directed by the licensed nursing and therapy team
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized care environment by following infection control protocols and Washington State facility standards
  • Observe and report changes in resident physical or mental status, behaviors, or symptoms to the charge nurse in a timely manner
  • Participate in shift handoffs, nursing care conferences, and facility training sessions to ensure continuity and quality of care
  • Support end-of-life care with compassion and professionalism, honoring residents' dignity and family wishes as part of the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in Tacoma, WA

  • Active and unrestricted Washington State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing on the WA State Nurse Aide Registry
  • Current CPR/BLS certification from an accredited provider (AHA or Red Cross preferred)
  • Minimum completion of a state-approved CNA training program; prior experience in LTC or rehab settings is a plus but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to perform resident transfers and assist with mobility using proper techniques and facility-approved equipment
