Flexible Temporary CNA Opportunities in Long-Term Care & Rehabilitation Settings Across the Reno Area

Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene in accordance with individualized care plans
  • Monitor and accurately document vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature, reporting any significant changes to the supervising nurse
  • Provide mobility assistance, including transferring and repositioning patients using proper body mechanics and facility-approved lifting equipment to prevent falls and pressure injuries
  • Support residents during mealtimes by assisting with feeding, encouraging adequate nutrition and hydration intake, and documenting consumption as required
  • Deliver compassionate emotional support and engage residents in conversation and activities that promote dignity, mental well-being, and a positive care environment
  • Assist rehabilitation patients with prescribed range-of-motion exercises and ambulation activities under the direction of nursing and therapy staff
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized resident environment by performing routine room tidying, linen changes, and infection control practices per facility protocols
  • Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests, prioritizing resident safety and comfort at all times
  • Communicate observations about changes in resident behavior, physical condition, or emotional status to licensed nursing staff in a timely and professional manner
  • Adhere to all HIPAA regulations, facility policies, state-mandated care standards, and Reliant Healthcare Solutions compliance requirements throughout each assignment

Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in Reno, NV

  • Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification listed in good standing on the Nevada State Health Division Nurse Aide Registry
  • Valid government-issued photo identification and Social Security card or work authorization documentation
  • Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (must be valid at time of placement)
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening in compliance with Nevada state requirements and facility standards
  • Demonstrated ability to perform physical demands of the role including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and assisting with patient transfers
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary care teams in LTC and rehabilitation environments
  • Minimum of one completed long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation clinical rotation or work experience preferred but not required for entry-level candidates
  • Reliable transportation to reach facilities throughout the Reno-Sparks area and flexibility to fulfill temporary shift assignments as scheduled
