Flexible Temporary CNA Opportunities in Long-Term Care & Rehabilitation Settings Across the Bay Area
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct personal care to residents and patients, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene in LTC and rehabilitation settings
- Assist patients with ambulation, transfers, and mobility exercises under the supervision of licensed nursing staff and physical therapists
- Monitor and accurately document vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate and report changes to the charge nurse
- Support patients with meals and nutritional intake, including feeding assistance and hydration monitoring in accordance with care plans
- Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests, ensuring a safe, dignified, and respectful care environment at all times
- Assist rehabilitation patients with prescribed exercise programs and therapeutic activities as directed by the supervising clinical team
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment by performing routine room tidying, linen changes, and infection control practices
- Observe and report changes in patient physical condition, behavior, or emotional status to the nursing team to facilitate timely interventions
- Document care activities accurately in electronic health records or paper charting systems in compliance with California state and facility requirements
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including nurses, therapists, and social workers to support individualized patient care plans
Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in San Francisco
- Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of California, in good standing with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Aide and Technician Certification Section (ATCS)
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited provider such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Prior experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing facility, or rehabilitation setting preferred but not required for entry-level candidates
- Ability to safely perform patient lifts, transfers, and physical care tasks, with capacity to stand, walk, and remain active for extended shift durations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work compassionately with elderly, post-surgical, and rehabilitation patient populations
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and adherence to HIPAA privacy standards and California healthcare compliance regulations
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends in accordance with temporary staffing assignment needs
