Flexible Temporary CNA Opportunities in Long-Term Care & Rehabilitation Settings Across St. Pete

Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene in LTC and rehab settings
  • Monitor and accurately record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature, reporting changes to the charge nurse promptly
  • Assist with ambulation, transfers, and positioning of residents using proper body mechanics and facility-approved equipment to prevent injury
  • Support rehabilitation patients in completing prescribed exercises and mobility activities under the guidance of nursing and therapy staff
  • Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to long-term care residents, fostering dignity and a sense of community
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients and residents by adhering to infection control protocols and facility sanitation standards
  • Document patient care activities, observations, and any changes in condition accurately and in a timely manner within the facility's electronic health record system
  • Assist with meal preparation, feeding support, and hydration monitoring to ensure residents meet their nutritional needs and care plan goals
  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams including nurses, physical therapists, and social workers to ensure continuity of resident care
  • Respond promptly and professionally to call lights and resident requests, upholding RHS's standard of patient-first healthcare delivery

Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in St. Petersburg

  • Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Florida in good standing with the Florida Department of Health
  • Listed on the Florida Certified Nursing Assistant Registry with no substantiated findings of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent; any level of CNA experience considered, from new graduates to seasoned professionals
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification from an AHA- or Red Cross-approved provider, current and valid at time of placement
  • Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, resident-centered care in a long-term care or rehabilitative healthcare environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a nursing and multidisciplinary staffing team
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and assisting with patient transfers
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to work a variety of shifts across St. Petersburg-area LTC and rehab facilities as assigned by RHS
