Responsibilities:

• Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene in LTC and rehab settings
• Monitor and accurately document vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, reporting changes to the supervising nurse promptly
• Support patient mobility through repositioning, transferring, and ambulation assistance using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to long-term care residents, fostering dignity and a sense of well-being
• Assist nursing staff with rehabilitation exercises and range-of-motion activities as directed by physical or occupational therapy teams
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in accordance with Florida state healthcare regulations and facility infection control protocols
• Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests, ensuring timely and respectful attention to resident needs throughout the shift
• Assist with meal preparation setup, feeding support, and accurate intake and output documentation for assigned residents

Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in Tampa

• Active and unrestricted Florida CNA certification in good standing with the Florida Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Prior experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing facility, or rehabilitation setting preferred but not required for all placements
• Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited provider such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing for extended periods, and assisting with patient transfers throughout the duration of a shift
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary nursing and healthcare team
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professionalism consistent with the expectations of temporary healthcare staffing assignments
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and TB test or health screening as required by facility and Florida state regulations
