Flexible Temporary CNA Opportunities in Long-Term Care & Rehabilitation Settings Across the Tampa Bay Area
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene in LTC and rehab settings
- Monitor and accurately document vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, reporting changes to the supervising nurse promptly
- Support patient mobility through repositioning, transferring, and ambulation assistance using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to long-term care residents, fostering dignity and a sense of well-being
- Assist nursing staff with rehabilitation exercises and range-of-motion activities as directed by physical or occupational therapy teams
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in accordance with Florida state healthcare regulations and facility infection control protocols
- Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests, ensuring timely and respectful attention to resident needs throughout the shift
- Assist with meal preparation setup, feeding support, and accurate intake and output documentation for assigned residents
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams, including nurses, therapists, and social workers, to support coordinated patient care plans
- Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines, facility policies, and staffing agency standards while maintaining professional conduct throughout every assignment
Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in Tampa
- Active and unrestricted Florida CNA certification in good standing with the Florida Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Prior experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing facility, or rehabilitation setting preferred but not required for all placements
- Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited provider such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing for extended periods, and assisting with patient transfers throughout the duration of a shift
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary nursing and healthcare team
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professionalism consistent with the expectations of temporary healthcare staffing assignments
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and TB test or health screening as required by facility and Florida state regulations
