Flexible Temporary CNA Opportunities in Long-Term Care & Rehab Settings Across the Austin Area

Responsibilities:

• Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene in LTC and rehab environments
• Monitor and accurately record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory rate, reporting changes to the supervising nurse
• Support patient mobility and safe ambulation, including the use of walkers, wheelchairs, and mechanical lifts in accordance with facility protocols
• Assist rehabilitation patients with prescribed range-of-motion exercises and encourage participation in therapeutic activities under nurse and therapist direction
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents by performing routine room upkeep and infection control practices
• Provide compassionate emotional support and companionship to long-term care residents, promoting dignity and quality of life
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding support, and hydration monitoring, documenting intake and output as required
• Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests, demonstrating a patient-centered approach to care at all times
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams including nurses, physical therapists, and social workers to ensure coordinated resident care
• Adhere to all Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) regulations, facility policies, and Reliant Healthcare Solutions compliance standards

Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in Austin, TX

• Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification listed in good standing on the Texas Nurse Aide Registry
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program meeting Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) requirements
• Minimum of one completed CNA clinical rotation or prior hands-on experience in a healthcare, LTC, or rehab setting preferred but not required for entry-level candidates
• Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening in accordance with Texas state law and facility requirements
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with elderly and post-acute rehabilitation patients
