Flexible Temporary CNA Opportunities in Long-Term Care & Rehabilitation Settings Across Springfield, MO
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in accordance with individualized care plans
- Monitor and accurately document vital signs, fluid intake and output, and changes in patient condition, reporting concerns promptly to the supervising nurse
- Provide mobility assistance including transfers, repositioning, and ambulation support using proper body mechanics and facility-approved lift equipment
- Deliver compassionate, person-centered care to long-term care residents, supporting their physical, emotional, and social well-being during daily interactions
- Assist rehabilitation patients with therapeutic exercises and functional activities as directed by the nursing and therapy team to support recovery goals
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents and patients by following infection control protocols and facility housekeeping standards
- Respond promptly and courteously to call lights and patient requests, ensuring timely and respectful service throughout each shift
- Support meal service by assisting residents with dining, feeding when required, and ensuring proper positioning during mealtimes to reduce aspiration risk
- Participate in care conferences, shift handoff communications, and staff huddles to ensure continuity of care across the nursing team
- Adhere to all state of Missouri CNA scope-of-practice regulations, facility policies, and HIPAA privacy requirements at all times
Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in Springfield
- Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Missouri, in good standing on the Missouri Nurse Aide Registry
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Basic understanding of long-term care and/or rehabilitation care principles; new graduates with Missouri CNA certification are welcome to apply
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the role including prolonged standing, lifting, and assisting with patient transfers throughout the shift
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary nursing and care team
- Reliable attendance and professional conduct consistent with healthcare staffing standards and facility expectations
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain prior to placement
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends at LTC and rehab facilities throughout the Springfield, MO area
