Flexible Temporary CNA Opportunities in Long-Term Care & Rehabilitation Settings Across Lincoln, NE
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in LTC and rehab settings
- Monitor and accurately document vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, reporting changes to licensed nursing staff
- Support resident mobility by assisting with transfers, ambulation, and the proper use of assistive devices such as walkers and wheelchairs
- Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to long-term care residents, fostering dignity and a sense of well-being
- Assist rehabilitation patients with prescribed exercise routines and therapeutic activities under the direction of nursing and therapy staff
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents by performing light housekeeping duties within care areas
- Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests, prioritizing urgent needs while managing multiple responsibilities across busy care floors
- Assist dietary staff with meal service, ensure proper resident positioning during meals, and document nutritional intake as required
- Observe and report changes in resident behavior, skin integrity, appetite, or physical condition to the supervising RN or LPN
- Adhere to all facility infection control protocols, HIPAA regulations, and Nebraska state standards for long-term care and rehabilitation settings
Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in Lincoln, NE
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing on the Nebraska Health Care Registry
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening in accordance with Nebraska healthcare staffing requirements
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain prior to first assignment)
- Previous experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation setting preferred but not required — all experience levels are welcome
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and a genuine commitment to person-centered, compassionate resident care
- Physical ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents safely, and to remain on your feet for extended periods during shifts
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends as needed across Lincoln-area facilities
