Responsibilities:

• Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Monitor and accurately document vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates
• Support mobility and ambulation, including proper use of assistive devices such as walkers, wheelchairs, and gait belts
• Provide compassionate personal care to long-term care residents or home health clients in accordance with individualized care plans
• Assist rehabilitation patients with therapeutic exercises and functional activities under the supervision of licensed nursing or therapy staff
• Report observable changes in patient or resident condition promptly to the supervising RN or LPN
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized care environment in compliance with infection control and facility protocols
• Assist with feeding, hydration, and nutritional monitoring, documenting intake and output as required
• Communicate respectfully and empathetically with patients, residents, families, and members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Complete all required documentation and electronic health record (EHR) entries accurately and in a timely manner

Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in Norfolk, VA

• Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification listed on the Virginia Board of Nursing Nurse Aide Registry
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Minimum of one (1) completed clinical placement or hands-on CNA experience preferred; new graduates from accredited programs are encouraged to apply
• Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and reference verification
