Flexible Temporary CNA Opportunities in Long-Term Care & Rehabilitation Settings Across Durham

Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in LTC and rehab settings
  • Monitor and accurately record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, reporting any abnormal findings promptly to supervising nursing staff
  • Support patient mobility and safe ambulation, including the proper use of assistive devices such as walkers, wheelchairs, and transfer belts in accordance with care plans
  • Provide compassionate emotional support and meaningful social interaction to long-term care residents, fostering dignity and a sense of well-being
  • Assist rehabilitation patients with prescribed exercise routines and therapy-related tasks under the direction of licensed nursing and therapy staff
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, including changing bed linens, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring rooms meet facility standards
  • Accurately document patient care activities, changes in condition, and intake and output records in compliance with North Carolina state regulations and facility policies
  • Respond promptly and professionally to patient and resident call lights, ensuring timely assistance and proactive rounding throughout assigned shifts
  • Assist with nutritional support by serving meals, helping patients with feeding as needed, and monitoring dietary intake per individualized care plans
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including nurses, therapists, and social workers to support holistic, patient-centered care

Qualifications We Look For in Durham CNA Candidates

  • Active and unrestricted North Carolina Nurse Aide I (CNA) certification in good standing on the NC Nurse Aide Registry
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Completion of a state-approved CNA training program with a minimum of 75 clock hours as required by North Carolina state standards
  • Current CPR/BLS certification from an accredited provider such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation setting preferred but not required — candidates at all experience levels are encouraged to apply
  • Demonstrated ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients safely, with the physical capability to perform the demands of a CNA role in an LTC or rehab environment
