Part-Time Licensed Practical & Vocational Nursing Opportunities Across Long-Term Care, Home Health, and Rehab Settings

Responsibilities:

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with North Carolina Board of Nursing practice standards and facility protocols
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs, health status changes, and clinical observations in electronic health records
  • Assist residents or patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, mobility, and nutritional support in LTC and home health settings
  • Collaborate with registered nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams to implement and update individualized care plans
  • Perform wound care, catheter care, IV maintenance, and other skilled nursing procedures as permitted within LPN/LVN scope of practice in North Carolina
  • Conduct patient and family education on medication management, disease processes, and discharge or home care instructions
  • Coordinate with rehabilitation specialists in skilled nursing and rehab settings to support patient recovery milestones and functional goals
  • Respond promptly to patient and resident concerns, communicating critical changes to the supervising RN or attending physician in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with facility policies, payer requirements, and state regulations
  • Ensure infection control protocols, safety standards, and HIPAA guidelines are consistently followed across all care environments

Qualifications & Requirements for LPN/LVN Candidates in Durham, NC

  • Active, unrestricted LPN or LVN license issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (or a valid Nursing Licensure Compact license recognized in NC)
  • Completion of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program from an approved institution
  • Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience in long-term care, home health, or rehabilitation settings is a plus — all experience levels from new graduates to seasoned nurses are encouraged to apply
