Part-Time Licensed Practical & Vocational Nurse Opportunities Across Multiple Healthcare Settings

Responsibilities:

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with Maryland Board of Nursing regulations and facility protocols across LTC, home health, rehab, and clinic settings
• Monitor and document patients' vital signs, health status changes, and responses to treatment, reporting significant findings promptly to supervising RNs or physicians
• Provide compassionate direct patient care including wound dressing changes, catheter care, IV maintenance support, and personal hygiene assistance
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams — including registered nurses, therapists, social workers, and physicians — to implement and update individualized patient care plans
• Conduct patient and family education on medication management, discharge instructions, chronic disease self-care, and preventive health practices
• Perform accurate and timely clinical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems in compliance with facility and regulatory standards
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring smooth care transitions and continuity across the care continuum
• Observe and uphold infection control procedures, HIPAA privacy standards, and all applicable federal and Maryland state healthcare regulations
• Support rehabilitation patients with therapeutic activities, mobility assistance, and motivational encouragement in partnership with occupational and physical therapy teams
• Respond to patient and family concerns with professionalism and empathy, serving as a frontline advocate for patient dignity and quality of care

Qualifications & Licensing Requirements for LPN/LVN Candidates in Maryland

• Current, active LPN or LVN license issued by the Maryland Board of Nursing (or a valid compact nursing license with Maryland privileges)
• Graduation from an accredited practical or vocational nursing program recognized by the Maryland Higher Education Commission or equivalent state authority
• Current CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, rotating, and flexible schedules as required by placement assignments
• Demonstrated ability to provide safe, effective nursing care in at least one of the following settings: long-term care, home health, rehabilitation, or outpatient clinic
• Proficiency or willingness to learn electronic health record (EHR) platforms commonly used in the Silver Spring/Montgomery County healthcare market
