Responsibilities:

• Assist patients and residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting in LTC, home health, rehab, and clinical settings
• Monitor and accurately record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration, reporting any abnormal findings to the supervising nurse
• Support patient mobility by safely assisting with transfers, ambulation, and repositioning to prevent pressure injuries and promote rehabilitation progress
• Provide compassionate personal care and emotional support to patients and their families, fostering a dignified and respectful care environment
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration monitoring, documenting intake and output as required by the care plan
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in accordance with facility infection control and safety protocols
• Communicate effectively with licensed nursing staff, therapists, and interdisciplinary care team members regarding changes in patient condition or behavior
• Document care activities accurately and in a timely manner using electronic health record (EHR) systems or paper-based documentation as required by the facility
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and emergency situations, applying appropriate first-response protocols while awaiting licensed staff
• Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations, Maryland state nursing assistant practice standards, and all facility-specific policies and procedures

Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in Silver Spring, MD

• Active and unrestricted Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification registered on the Maryland Board of Nursing Nurse Aide Registry
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required; completion of an approved Maryland CNA training program preferred
