Responsibilities:

• Assist patients and residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and ambulation across LTC, home health, rehab, and clinic settings
• Monitor and accurately document patient vital signs — including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature — and promptly report changes to supervising licensed nursing staff
• Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to patients and their families, fostering a dignified and respectful care environment
• Assist rehabilitation patients with prescribed exercises and mobility tasks under the direction of physical and occupational therapists or registered nurses
• Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable patient environments including changing bed linens, sanitizing rooms, and ensuring fall-prevention protocols are followed
• Support nutritional needs by preparing and serving meals, assisting with feeding as needed, and monitoring dietary intake and fluid consumption
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams including nurses, therapists, social workers, and physicians to ensure continuity and quality of patient care
• Adhere to all HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and facility-specific policies in every care setting
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and requests in a manner that prioritizes safety and patient satisfaction
• Accurately complete and maintain patient care documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems or paper charts in accordance with Maryland state and facility requirements

Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in Rockville, MD

• Active and in good standing Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification registered with the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON)
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required; completion of a state-approved CNA training program
• Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience in long-term care, home health, rehabilitation, or outpatient clinic settings preferred but not required — all experience levels are encouraged to apply
