Part-Time Licensed Practical & Vocational Nurse Opportunities Across Rockville's Top Healthcare Settings

Responsibilities:

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) regulations and facility policies across LTC, home health, rehab, and clinic settings
• Monitor and document patient vital signs, health status changes, and responses to treatment plans, reporting significant findings to the supervising RN or physician
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, mobility support, and nutritional intake for patients in long-term care and home health environments
• Perform wound care, catheter care, IV maintenance (where permitted by scope), and other skilled nursing procedures as directed by the care plan
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams — including physicians, therapists, social workers, and case managers — to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
• Educate patients and family members on prescribed medications, home care instructions, disease management, and preventative health practices
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records, nursing notes, and care documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA and facility standards
• Conduct patient intake assessments, collect specimens, and assist with diagnostic procedures in clinic and outpatient settings
• Observe and report changes in patient behavior, cognition, or physical condition that may indicate a decline or emerging complication requiring escalation
• Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory compliance requirements including those set by CMS, COMAR, and Joint Commission-accredited facilities

Qualifications & Licensure Requirements for LPN/LVN Candidates in Maryland

• Active, unrestricted LPN or LVN license issued by the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) or a Compact State license with Maryland work authorization
• Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing or Licensed Vocational Nursing program recognized by the MBON
• Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience in one or more of the following settings is valued but not required: long-term care, home health, rehabilitation, or outpatient clinic (all experience levels welcome)
• Demonstrated ability to administer medications, perform skilled nursing procedures, and maintain accurate clinical documentation
• Proficiency or ability to quickly learn electronic health record (EHR) platforms commonly used in Maryland healthcare facilities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary care teams and independently in home health environments
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and provide up-to-date health clearance documentation including TB testing as required by Maryland healthcare employers
