Part-Time Licensed Practical & Vocational Nurse Opportunities Across Columbia, Maryland

Responsibilities:

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with Maryland Board of Nursing scope-of-practice standards and facility protocols
• Monitor and document patient vital signs, health status changes, and responses to care interventions across LTC, home health, rehab, or clinic settings
• Assist in developing, implementing, and updating individualized patient care plans under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheter care, and other skilled nursing procedures as ordered and within LPN/LVN scope of practice
• Communicate patient status updates, concerns, and changes in condition promptly to supervising RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary care team members
• Provide compassionate direct patient care including personal hygiene assistance, mobility support, and comfort measures in home health and LTC environments
• Educate patients and family members on medication regimens, discharge instructions, chronic disease management, and preventive health practices
• Accurately complete and maintain clinical documentation, electronic health records (EHR), and required regulatory paperwork in a timely manner
• Coordinate with rehabilitation therapists, social workers, and other allied health professionals to support comprehensive, patient-centered care plans
• Maintain a safe care environment by adhering to infection control protocols, fall prevention measures, and facility-specific safety and compliance standards

Qualifications & Requirements for LPN/LVN Candidates in Columbia, MD

• Active, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license issued by the Maryland Board of Nursing (or compact state license with Maryland privileges)
• Graduation from an accredited practical or vocational nursing program recognized by the Maryland Board of Nursing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
