Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility support across LTC, home health, rehab, and clinic settings
• Monitor and accurately record patients' vital signs — including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration — and promptly report changes to supervising nursing staff
• Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to residents and patients, fostering dignity, independence, and well-being in every interaction
• Assist with patient transfers, repositioning, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices to ensure safety for both patient and caregiver
• Support nutrition and hydration goals by assisting with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and accurate intake and output documentation
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in accordance with infection control protocols and facility or agency standards
• Collaborate effectively with registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, therapists, and other interdisciplinary healthcare team members to deliver coordinated patient care
• Document care activities, observations, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner using electronic health record (EHR) systems or written documentation as required
• Respond promptly to patient call lights, emergency situations, and requests for assistance, demonstrating professionalism and calm under pressure
• Adhere to all Maryland state regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and facility-specific policies governing patient safety, confidentiality, and quality of care

CNA Qualifications & Requirements We're Looking For

• Active and unrestricted Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification listed in good standing on the Maryland Board of Nursing Nurse Aide Registry
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required; completion of a state-approved CNA training program preferred
• CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification current and valid, or willingness to obtain prior to first assignment
• Demonstrated ability to perform physical demands of the role including lifting, transferring patients, and standing for extended periods
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered, empathetic approach to care delivery
• Ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening in accordance with Maryland state and facility requirements
• Experience in one or more healthcare settings — long-term care, home health, rehabilitation, or outpatient clinic — preferred but not required; entry-level candidates are welcome
• Reliable transportation and the flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, rotating, or flexible schedules as matched to available opportunities
