Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, hands-on personal care to patients and residents including bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene across LTC, home health, rehab, and clinic settings
• Monitor and accurately record patient vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration, reporting any changes to the supervising nurse promptly
• Assist patients with mobility, ambulation, transfers, and repositioning using proper body mechanics and assistive devices to prevent injury
• Support patients with meals and nutritional intake, including feeding assistance when necessary, and document food and fluid consumption accurately
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment in compliance with Maryland state infection control standards and facility protocols
• Communicate compassionately and professionally with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care
• Assist rehabilitation patients with prescribed exercise routines and therapeutic activities under the direction of licensed therapists and nursing staff
• Respond promptly to patient call lights, emergency situations, and requests for assistance, demonstrating a calm and caring demeanor at all times
• Document all patient care activities, observations, and incidents accurately and in a timely manner within electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Adhere to all HIPAA regulations, facility policies, and Maryland Board of Nursing CNA standards of practice to maintain compliance and protect patient dignity

Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in Baltimore, MD

• Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification listed in good standing on the Maryland Board of Nursing Nurse Aide Registry
• Valid CPR/BLS certification from an accredited organization such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and TB/health screening in accordance with Maryland state and facility requirements
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Physical ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients, and to stand or walk for extended periods throughout a shift
• Experience in at least one of the following care settings is preferred but not required: long-term care, home health, inpatient rehabilitation, or outpatient clinic
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professionalism consistent with the expectations of Baltimore's leading healthcare staffing environments
