Flexible Temporary CNA Opportunities in Long-Term Care & Rehabilitation Settings Across Baltimore

Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene in LTC and rehab environments
  • Monitor and accurately record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature, reporting changes to the supervising nurse promptly
  • Support patient mobility and safe ambulation, including the proper use of assistive devices, transfer techniques, and repositioning to prevent pressure injuries
  • Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to long-term care residents, fostering dignity and a sense of community within the facility
  • Assist rehabilitation patients with prescribed exercises and therapeutic activities under the direction of licensed nursing and therapy staff
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment including making beds, tidying rooms, and ensuring infection control protocols are followed at all times
  • Document patient care activities, observations, and any notable changes in condition accurately in the facility's electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Assist with nutritional support by serving meals, feeding patients as needed, and monitoring fluid and food intake per care plan guidelines
  • Respond promptly and professionally to patient and resident call lights, addressing needs with patience, urgency, and compassion
  • Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team — including nurses, therapists, and social workers — to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care delivery

Qualifications & Requirements for Baltimore CNA Candidates

  • Active and unrestricted Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Maryland, in good standing with the Maryland Board of Nursing
  • Completion of a state-approved CNA training program meeting Maryland Department of Health requirements
  • Current CPR/BLS certification from an accredited provider (American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred)
  • Experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings is preferred but candidates at all experience levels are encouraged to apply
  • Demonstrated ability to perform safe patient handling, transfers, and mobility assistance techniques with or without assistive equipment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to interact respectfully and empathetically with elderly and post-acute patient populations
  • Ability to pass a Maryland state background check and meet facility-specific health screening requirements including TB testing and immunization verification
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends across Baltimore-area LTC and rehabilitation facilities
