Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurse Opportunities Across Charlotte's Growing Healthcare Community
Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and North Carolina Board of Nursing guidelines
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, health status changes, and care outcomes across LTC, home health, and rehabilitation settings
- Provide direct patient care including wound care, catheter care, tube feedings, and other skilled nursing procedures
- Communicate effectively with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the supervising RN or care coordinator
- Educate patients and family members on medication management, discharge instructions, and ongoing health maintenance strategies
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems used by Charlotte-area facilities
- Observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments and report changes promptly to the supervising clinician
- Uphold infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory compliance requirements specific to each care environment
- Provide compassionate emotional support and patient advocacy, particularly when working with elderly or post-acute rehabilitation populations
Qualifications & Requirements for LPN/LVN Candidates in Charlotte, NC
- Active and unrestricted LPN or LVN license issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (or compact state license with eligibility to practice in NC)
- Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing or Licensed Vocational Nursing program
- Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience in long-term care, home health, or rehabilitation settings is preferred but not required — new graduates are encouraged to apply
- Working knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical documentation best practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in team-based care environments
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and health clearance in compliance with facility and state requirements
- Reliable transportation and the flexibility to work part-time shifts across assigned Charlotte-area locations as needed
