Flexible Temporary CNA Opportunities in Long-Term Care & Rehabilitation Settings
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting in LTC and rehab settings
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, reporting changes to the supervising nurse promptly
- Support patient mobility and ambulation goals as directed by the rehabilitation care team, including assisting with transfers using proper body mechanics and lift equipment
- Provide compassionate emotional support and meaningful social interaction to long-term care residents, promoting dignity and quality of life
- Assist with feeding and nutritional intake, documenting consumption and reporting concerns related to appetite or swallowing difficulties
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized resident environment, including changing bed linens and ensuring infection control protocols are followed
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members including RNs, LPNs, therapists, and social workers to relay observations about resident or patient status
- Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner using facility electronic health record (EHR) systems or paper charting as required
- Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests, prioritizing needs while maintaining calm and professional demeanor during high-census or high-acuity periods
- Participate in shift handoffs and care conferences to ensure continuity of care and seamless communication across the nursing team
Qualifications & Requirements for CNA Candidates in Winston-Salem
- Active and unrestricted Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of North Carolina, as verified through the NC Nurse Aide Registry
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Ability to pass a federal and state background check in accordance with North Carolina long-term care facility regulations
- Current CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to perform safe patient handling, transfers, and repositioning with or without mechanical lift equipment
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and a genuine commitment to person-centered care for elderly and post-acute patient populations
- Willingness and availability to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, nights, and/or weekends based on facility needs
- Previous experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation environment is preferred but not required — entry-level CNAs are encouraged to apply
