Flexible Temporary CNA Opportunities in Long-Term Care & Rehab Facilities Across Pittsburgh

Responsibilities:

• Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in accordance with individualized care plans
• Monitor and accurately document vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, reporting any changes to the supervising nurse
• Support safe patient mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices, including Hoyer lifts, gait belts, and wheelchairs
• Provide compassionate assistance with meal preparation setup, feeding support, and hydration monitoring for residents in long-term care and rehab settings
• Assist licensed nursing staff with wound care observation, pressure injury prevention protocols, and repositioning of immobile or limited-mobility residents
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents by performing light housekeeping duties within patient rooms and common care areas
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams including nurses, physical therapists, and social workers to support coordinated rehabilitation and recovery plans
• Observe and promptly report changes in resident behavior, physical condition, or emotional status to the charge nurse or supervising clinical staff
• Respect and uphold the dignity, privacy, and rights of all residents and patients in compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Health and facility-specific standards
• Accurately complete required documentation, shift notes, and care logs in accordance with facility policy and applicable state regulatory requirements

Qualifications & Requirements for Pittsburgh CNA Candidates

• Active and unrestricted Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification registered with the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry
• Valid, current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited provider such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Prior experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation healthcare setting is preferred but not required — all experience levels are welcome to apply
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to elderly and post-acute patients with diverse and complex needs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary nursing and clinical team
• Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the role, including prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance
