Temporary RN Opportunities in Home Health, Rehab & Long-Term Care Across the Nation's Capital

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in home health, rehabilitation, or long-term care settings across Washington, DC
• Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies, and treatments in accordance with facility protocols and DC Board of Nursing standards
• Monitor and document patient progress, vital signs, and clinical status using electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring accurate and timely charting
• Coordinate care transitions and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, social workers, and home health aides
• Educate patients and family members on disease management, medication adherence, wound care, and post-acute recovery strategies
• Perform skilled nursing procedures including wound care, catheter management, tracheostomy care, and enteral feeding as required by the care setting
• Identify changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate clinical interventions, escalating concerns to attending physicians as needed
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and facility-specific policies and procedures
• Participate in care conferences, discharge planning meetings, and quality improvement initiatives as directed by facility leadership
• Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive nursing care to a diverse patient population reflective of Washington, DC's rich multicultural community

Qualifications & Requirements for DC Registered Nurse Candidates

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the District of Columbia Board of Nursing or a valid Compact State RN license recognized in DC
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; ACLS preferred for certain settings
• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations in home health, rehab, or LTC are encouraged to apply
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) platforms such as Epic, Meditech, PointClickCare, or similar systems used in DC-area facilities
• Strong clinical assessment skills with demonstrated ability to manage complex patient caseloads in fast-paced or community-based environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary care teams
